Faye Ellen Kufahl

Faye writes almost daily, having also amassed almost 150 poems in the last two years. Aside from the occasional public poetry reading, she has given numerous speeches on mental illness and her sister Gail.

Among her many interests are Native American spirituality and learning to sing the Blues.

Enjoying life as it comes, Faye now lives on the beautiful Rock River in Southern Wisconsin with her best friend and life partner, Wm. J. Krupinski.

Nutterville. It was what it was. Or was it? In this tender and passionate memoir by Faye Ellen Kufahl, the reader is drawn into smaltown Wisconsin life in the 150's.

It's not a story wrapped up in a cute little package with a happy ending; it's a story of lives shattered by a family member's mental illness. Faye's predictable ease of growing up in a large family is rocked by the onset of her older sister Gail's paranoid schizophrenia. This development affects the relationships between family members.

Welcome to Nutterville, where everybody knew everybody, where life was seemingly quiet and simple, yet where secrets lay like hidden time bombs. This book is a tribute to many troubled yet glorious people. Their stories told by a superb storyteller are deeply moving and will stay with you for the rest of your life.
